HERBAL MEDICINE - The use of herbs in liquid (extract or tincture) or tablet form to assist the body to heal and balance. Some of the wonderful healing properties of herbs are to build immunity, balance hormones, reduce pain, improve digestion, cleanse the blood and lymph, revitalise and nourish the nervous system, heal the skin.
COUNSELLING - To assist with stress related problems or ongoing issues.
FLOWER ESSENCES - Using Bach and Australian Bush Flower Essences to help heal the mind body and spirit. They can assist the process of dealing with issues such as anger, anxiety and loss. The flower essences can be added to the herbal mix or given separately in a base of brandy and water.
IRIDOLOGY- Involves looking into the iris for particular signs that can aid diagnosis and the choosing of appropriate herbs and flower essences.
REFLEXOLOGY - Involves stimulating particular points on the feet to facilitate healing and relaxation.
NATURAL FERTILITY MANAGEMENT - Using herbs, diet vitamin and minerals, flower essences and counselling to promote fertility in males and females.
BOWEN TECHNIQUE - A simple technique of rolling over muscles and tendons in a particular order to release tension from muscles and to facilitate the flow of energy through the body. Excellent for back and neck pain, headaches, RSI and Frozen shoulder.
LYMPH DRAINAGE - Stimulates the flow of lymph through the body. Excellent after the acute phase of glandular fever and after the removal of lymph nodes.
YOGA, RELAXATION AND MEDITATION - Stretches, breathing techniques, relaxation and meditation exercises to calm, relax and promote peace of mind. Helping to balance mind, body and spirit.
Ideally I like to work in a wholistic way, that is looking at the whole person taking into consideration physical and lifestyle factors such as diet, as well as mental and emotional factors (and if the person is interested also spiritual factors). Our mental and emotional states affect us physically, so it is important to also consider these factors.
I find that treating the client wholistically helps to facilitate a deeper and more meaningful healing process that then helps to bring them back to a 'point of balance' rather than just treating the symptoms.
Each person is different, so treatment is best tailored for that individual. Some may require only one modality in a session e.g. a Bowen treatment, while others may require a variety of modalities in one session or over a number of sessions.
